NAESP's Platform describes our views about the state of elementary and middle-level education and the steps we are taking to increase the recognition of the principal as the authority in the supervision and administration of elementary and middle-level schools. The Platform contains a summary of all resolutions adopted by business meetings and Delegate Assemblies since 1974, and it is divided into three sections:
· Educating the whole child
· The principal’s role as instructional leader
· Curriculum and instruction
The Platform guides the work NAESP conducts on behalf of its members, and NAESP’s
Advocacy department works with legislators on Capitol Hill and other government officials to ensure that federal education policy reflects the priorities of NAESP’s members.

Feedback Sought
Each year, NAESP’s Resolutions Committee reviews the Platform and suggests changes. These changes are then voted upon by the NAESP Delegate Assembly. To learn more about this process, read committee chair Barbara Chester’s
letter to members.
The results of the Resolution Committee’s diligent work are compiled each year in its proposed resolutions. Member review and feedback is critical to the resolution process, so we ask that you review the following documents and offer your feedback.
