Summer is officially here, and educators are already gearing up to transform their classrooms and update their curricula for the upcoming academic year. Here are some valuable tips to help staff kickstart some preparation at your school:

  1. Organize a Collaborative Classroom Cleaning Day: Once school is officially out, plan a designated day or afternoon where staff members can come together to deep clean their classrooms as a team. Provide cleaning supplies, like Lysol Disinfecting Wipes, garbage bags, and boxes to take home personal items. Working together can be incredibly effective and fosters a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility for maintaining a clean and welcoming learning environment.
  2. Add Lysol to Your Teachers’ Lists: Educators and administrators often rely on the generous contributions and involvement of their school communities to help stock up the classroom with essentials. If your staff creates their own teachers’ lists, encourage them to add disinfecting products like Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and Lysol Disinfectant Spray. These products kill 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria, when used as directed, and are essentials for everyday use.
  3. Revamp Classroom Layouts: Take advantage of the summer break to rethink and rearrange classroom layouts. Consider flexible seating arrangements that promote collaboration and movement or create dedicated areas for different learning activities such as reading corners, STEM stations, or art centers. Engage educators in the process by soliciting their input and involving them in designing layouts that best suit their teaching styles and goals.

To further refresh classrooms and learning spaces for the new academic year, teachers, administrators, and school leaders can find resources and downloadable activities on important healthy habits like handwashing, germ transmission, and more.
