In a letter sent to the House Committee on Appropriations, NAESP strongly urged Congress to vote against a bill being considered that would drastically slash funding and services for education, including an 80 percent cut to Title I, elimination of Title II-A, and an $890 million cut to Title III English Language Acquisition grants.
These devastating cuts will disproportionately affect our students and schools most in need of additional support. Indeed, a funding reduction of this magnitude would eliminate services for 25 million students.
